Building a Getty CSV by hand is its own job: the right columns in the right order, dates formatted correctly, and every keyword drawn from the controlled vocabulary or the upload bounces. PixTagger generates the whole file for you. Each photo or clip gets a title, a unique description, and up to 50 controlled-vocabulary keywords, laid out in the exact ESP column order — so you spend your time shooting, not wrestling a spreadsheet.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
What columns are in the Getty CSV?+
file name, created date, title, description, country, brief code, and up to 50 keywords — the exact columns Getty ESP imports.
Are the keywords controlled-vocabulary compliant?+
Yes. Every keyword in the Getty CSV is drawn from Getty's official controlled vocabulary, so your submission isn't rejected for invalid terms.
Can I combine several batches into one CSV?+
Yes. Each drop is capped per batch, but batches stack in the same review screen and export as a single combined CSV — and re-dropping a file already in the export is skipped, so you're never charged twice.
Does the Getty CSV work for iStock too?+
Yes. iStock shares Getty's controlled vocabulary and ESP workflow, so the same CSV works for both.
Do I get the ESP CSV, DeepMeta or qHero?+
Both formats from the same tagging run. The ESP CSV carries file name, created date, title, description, country, brief code and up to 50 controlled-vocabulary keywords, and the same file imports into DeepMeta. The qHero CSV is the leaner four-column shape that tool expects. Dates are written as MM/DD/YYYY, which is what ESP requires and DeepMeta also accepts.
Where does the created date come from?+
From each photo's EXIF capture time, read in your browser before the upload strips metadata — not from the file's timestamp, which for anything you have edited or re-exported would be months after the shoot. Agencies check that date against the date on your model release, so a wrong one can fail an otherwise good submission. No EXIF date means a blank column rather than a guess.
Do the file names in the CSV have to match my files exactly?+
Yes, including the extension — Getty's tools attach each row to a file by its full file name. That is why it is worth tagging the exact files you will deliver: tag a .mov and convert it to .mp4 afterwards and the row no longer finds its clip. We write the file name exactly as you dropped it, so if you do not convert anything, this takes care of itself.
